15th March 2019
Please note that on Monday 11th March I became aware of a breach of my personal and business email(s) as a result of a malicious hack. I immediately set about changing the passwords and  also completed a ACORN report (police). I have notified and sought advice from Speech Pathology Australia, Guild Insurance, and OAIC on the data breach.
I keep many of my client emails, these potentially span from January 2010 to the present day. These may include emails: from my website enquiry form; handover to other speech pathologists or health professionals; referrals from doctors, speech pathologists, nursing home facilities, and other health professionals; and emails with a speech pathology assessment report attached. So, the emails contain, personal identification information and health information.
Clients should be wary of any emails they receive from Say It Speech Pathology given the possible breach. I will never request any personal information or banking information via email. In addition, if you were referred to Say It Speech Pathology by a doctor your Medicare card details may have been compromised. I recommend contacting Medicare – Scams & Identity Theft on 1800 941 126 to organise a new card.
I apologise for any inconvenience. Please note I am taking steps to prevent future breaches.
Kind Regards,
Majella Eva
